Who we are
GTW Garden Clearances ("we", "us") is a family-run garden clearance and green waste removal business serving Cheshire West & Chester, Flintshire, Wrexham, Denbighshire and the Wirral. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in it by emailing [email protected] or calling 07359 138465.
What we collect
- Quote enquiries — your name, phone number, postcode, the service you need, any details you give us about the job, and any photos of your garden you choose to attach.
- Calls, texts and emails — whatever you send us in the course of arranging or discussing a job.
- Job records — quotes, booking dates, invoices, and before-and-after photos of the garden we worked on. These photos are of gardens, not people, and we don't publish addresses.
- Website usage — anonymous-style analytics about how the site is used (via Google Analytics), and anti-spam checks on the quote form (via Google reCAPTCHA). See "Cookies" below.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote — necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To carry out and document the work, including sending you before-and-after photos — performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in keeping accurate job records.
- To keep waste documentation — a legal obligation: as a registered waste carrier we're required to keep records of waste transfers.
- To showcase our work — we sometimes use before-and-after garden photos on this website or our Google profile. We'll ask you first, the photos won't identify you, and your address is never published.
- To improve this website — our legitimate interest in understanding how visitors use it.
We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we never sell your information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers who make the website and business run, acting on our instructions:
- Netlify — hosts this website and delivers your quote form submissions to us.
- Google — provides the analytics, reCAPTCHA anti-spam, embedded map and fonts used on this site. Google may process this data outside the UK under legally recognised safeguards.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it — for example, waste transfer records to environmental regulators.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become jobs — up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Customer and job records (quotes, invoices, photos) — up to 6 years, in line with tax record-keeping requirements.
- Waste transfer documentation — at least 2 years, as required by law.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to help us understand how the site is used — pages visited, approximate location, and device type. The quote form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects device and interaction information to tell humans from bots; use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
